Update #8: Introducing Benson Rukantabula
Hello, I’m Benson. In this outstanding project I offer technical support. My job is to study and understand the existing technology and equipment that Radio Tanzania currently has and how it all works. This knowledge will help us know what technology/equipment is missing so that it can be purchased for the digitization and so that the process will move on smoothly. Apart from that I also help socializing and seeking support from local sponsors, musicians, and stakeholders who can help us promote the project by making them aware about this project and how this project would be beneficial to them. Currently, I live in Dar es salaam and I work for the Open Universityof Tanzania as a part time instructor for computer & IT short courses.
My romance with music started way back– ever since I was singing in the children’s choir in a church. I have had this passion for music until now and I still strum my guitar strings every night before I go to bed. I have dedicated my time, strength and full support to this project and thanks to Rebecca Corey for being a good team leader of this project. I can’t wait for the digitization process to begin so that we can share this historical treasure whch is sitting idle and forgotten on deteriorating reel-to-reel tapes with the entire world. I’m happy and thankful to be a part of this!
